P355GH forging EN10028-2-2017 Steel Plates for Pressure Vessels.

This pressure vessel is made of P355GH material, which is widely used in numerous fields such as petrochemical engineering, energy and power, and aerospace. As a high-quality material for manufacturing pressure vessels, P355GH forgings occupy an important position in the industry due to their excellent comprehensive performance.

P355GH forgings comply with the European standard EN10028-2-2017 Steel Plates for Pressure Vessels. This standard sets strict and precise regulations on the chemical composition of P355GH, and each element plays a different key role in it, jointly determining the performance of the material.

Its chemical composition is as follows:

Carbon (C): Generally, the content ranges from 0.12% to 0.20%. Carbon content affects the strength and hardness of the steel; an excessively high content will reduce the toughness and weldability of the steel.

Silicon (Si): Usually, the content is between 0.10% and 0.50%. It can improve the strength and hardness of the steel and enhance the steel's oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance.

Manganese (Mn): The content generally ranges from 1.00% to 1.60%. It can increase the strength and toughness of the steel and improve the hot workability of the steel.

Phosphorus (P): Phosphorus is a harmful element, with a content generally not exceeding 0.025%. An excessively high content will increase the cold brittleness of the steel and reduce its toughness and weldability.

Sulfur (S): Sulfur is also a harmful element, and its content usually does not exceed 0.015%. The presence of sulfur causes hot brittleness in the steel, reducing its hot workability and toughness.

Chromium (Cr): The content is generally around 0.30%. Chromium can improve the corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of the steel and increase its strength and hardness.

Nickel (Ni): The content is usually about 0.30%. Nickel can enhance the toughness and corrosion resistance of the steel and reduce its cold brittleness.

Molybdenum (Mo): The content is generally around 0.10%. Molybdenum can improve the strength and hardness of the steel and enhance its high-temperature performance and creep resistance.

Performance Characteristics

High Strength: It has relatively high yield strength and tensile strength, enabling it to withstand large external forces and loads.

Good Toughness: It can still maintain good toughness under low-temperature and impact load conditions, and is not prone to brittle fracture.

Excellent Weldability: It can be easily processed and assembled through welding processes, and the welded joints have good performance.

Relatively Good Corrosion Resistance: Under certain environmental conditions, it has good corrosion resistance, which can extend the service life of the steel.

Application Fields

Pressure Vessels: It is widely used in the manufacture of various pressure vessels, such as storage tanks, reaction kettles, and boilers, ensuring the safe operation of the vessels under harsh conditions such as high pressure and high temperature.

Pipeline Engineering: It can be used for pipelines that transport media such as petroleum, natural gas, and chemical raw materials, with good pressure resistance and corrosion resistance.

Bridge Construction: In bridge structures, P355GH steel can be used to manufacture key components of bridges such as main girders and bridge piers, which can withstand vehicle loads and the effects of the natural environment.
