A182 F11 Alloy Applications: Success Stories from Global Industries

A182 F11 is a pearlitic heat-resistant alloy steel specified in China's GB/T 3077 standard. It is widely used in high-temperature and high-pressure working conditions, with a typical application temperature range of 480-560.

Its core chemical composition (by mass fraction) is: C 0.12%-0.18%, Cr 0.80%-1.20%, Mo 0.40%-0.55%, V 0.15%-0.30%. The small amounts of Cr, Mo, and V elements work synergistically to improve high-temperature strength and creep resistance while ensuring room-temperature toughness.

In terms of mechanical properties, at room temperature, its tensile strength is 440MPa, yield strength 295MPa, and elongation 22%; at high temperature (510), its tensile strength is 235MPa, with excellent creep resistance, enabling it to withstand high-pressure loads for a long time without easy deformation.

Regarding process characteristics, preheating (250-300) and post-heating (650-700) are required for welding to avoid cold cracks; the common heat treatment process is "normalizing + tempering" normalizing temperature is 950-990, and tempering temperature is 730-780℃ — to optimize structural stability.

It is mainly used in heating surface tubes of power station boilers, high-pressure vessels, high-temperature pipelines in petrochemical industry, such as superheater and reheater tubes of ultra-high pressure boilers, and is a key material for high-temperature pressure-bearing components in the power and chemical industries.
